The Inspiring Journey of Ravi Kumar Sihag
Ever since he was a child, Ravi Kumar Sihag helped his father with farming chores. He took care of all the farming responsibilities until he graduated. Whenever he faced any issues related to farming, irrigation, or anything else, he had to visit the collector’s office to get the problems resolved. It made him wonder who this collector was with the ability to solve all kinds of problems. People in his village often teased him, saying, “You will become a collector who can do all these tasks?” But instead of feeling discouraged, these words ignited a curiosity in Ravi’s mind.
He became determined to become a collector, no matter how tough the journey. Ravi knew there would be challenges, but his dream was strong, and he was ready to face whatever came his way. His unwavering resolve and determination to make a difference in people’s lives led him on a challenging yet inspiring path to success.
Ravi’s First UPSC Attempt
Ravi Kumar Sihag began preparing for the UPSC test in 2017 after receiving his degree in 2015. Since he intended to take the exam in Hindi and there weren’t many study resources available, he initially thought it would be difficult. His native Hindi was not as strong as English. However, Ravi seemed unfazed by this. In an effort to comprehend the ideas more fully, he transcribed his English notes into Hindi.
Ravi’s Second UPSC Attempt
Ravi maintained his studies while working for the Indian Railway Traffic Service (IRTS). His objective was to raise his UPSC exam score. He retook the exam in 2019 with a strong sense of resolve. He was not totally satisfied, even though he secured the 317th spot, which was a somewhat better rank than his previous effort.
Ravi was chosen for the Indian Defense Account Service (IDAS) this time around. Ravi had to make a difficult choice even though the Indian Railway Traffic Service was thought to be a superior service. Due to his heavy schedule in the Indian Railway Traffic Service, he was unable to dedicate adequate time to his UPSC exam studies. He so decided to join the Indian Defense Forces and resigned from the Indian Railway Traffic Service.
Ravi’s Third UPSC Attempt
Ravi Kumar kept pursuing his goal of becoming an Indian Accounting Service officer even after he joined the Indian Defense Accounts Service. He worked at his new job and maintained his education. He retook the UPSC test in 2020, however this time he failed the preliminary exam. Ravi was taken aback and experienced disappointment.
But Ravi didn’t allow this loss to demoralize him. Rather, he made the decision to work even harder and learn from his failures. Following significant difficulties with his earlier endeavors, Ravi Kumar modified his approach to studying.
